Ginger Mint Ice Tea

Recipe type: Beverage
Ingredients
  • 3 Tazo zen green tea bags (or whatever flavor you prefer)
  • 4 cups boiling water
  • 2-4 fresh mint leaves
  • ½ inch piece of ginger root
Directions
  1. Steep tea bags in boiling water and let it brew until it's room temperature. ( I use my brewing teapot, but you can use any glass container.  I don't recommend plastic).
  2. Once the tea is room temperature, place in the fridge and let it cool overnight.
  3. When you go to drink, add some mint leaves to your glass to infuse with minty flavor.  To help aid the mint flavor, you can rub it between your hands to warm it up before you drop it into your glass. (you can also place some mint leaves into the now chilled tea to make your next cup of tea even more minty while it sits)
  4. It is now that I like to add the ginger to the glass.  Here's how to do it:
  5. Peel the ginger
  6. Grate the ginger
  7. Take the grated ginger pulp and squeeze it over your glass.  The ginger juice will go right into the glass.
  8. Stir together and enjoy!
